Yes, we have our own personal hosting service and domain name – I expect things to get more interesting (read: Complicated) in the near future.

But that’s not all we’ve done – oh, no. We’re all set for our first of what I hope will be many monthly events:

Anyway, this event will take place Saturday, January 5th at 7 pm at Atomic Empire in Durham, NC. There is a link to the registration form on the new site here:

It’s only $5, and Atomic Empire has sodas, snacks, and 6 taps of DRAFT BEER from local breweries. Oh, yeah, and things like comics, action figures, and MTG cards…whatevs.

But Wait! There’s more! Cycle 3 of The Podcast will return in full force begining January 3rd and will update biweekly as before. In the first cycle of 2013, we’ll be discussing things like What to wear on the first date, A Geeks Guide to Valentines Day, Geeks dating Non-geeks, and THE INFAMOUS SEX EPISODE, in addition to some others here and there.

We give photo tips, talk shit about Fayetteville, and I share some of my old OkCupid messages that convinced me to go out on dates. In this episode, William and I go on a rant worthy of 4Chan about that old trope: “The Nice Guy.” We discuss the phenomenon of self-friend-zoning, the Trophy Concept, how women are not achievements to be won through patience alone, and how, amazingly, people like being liked. We discuss why nerd-raging about how girls are shallow might be a waste of time…time that could better be spent being brave and letting her know you actually like her with words.

We also chat about a recent creepy convention story, why bullwhips are good for traversing crevasses, and how even small costumes can’t make a picture of your dick appropriate for showing during an introductory conversation.

Breaking the Ice – The Bookstore Edition

In this Episode, Shane and Mimi help me revisit the ever-important topic of “Breaking the Ice,” at bookstores. We discuss ways to strike up conversations, avoiding topics like politics, religion, and Twilight, and how being a dick is never attractive. Afterwards, we expand on our previous LARP discussion and discover that Chivalry is not dead, one should live life to the fullest, and that LARP can be a magical place to meet like-minded costumed-types.

Apologies in advance for the cold that has plagued my voice, and I await praise and congratulations for editing out almost all of the coughs.

Cycle 2 Premier!! Episode 6 – Convention Etiquette – the Cosplay Angle

Cycle 2 is finally here, and in this episode, I’m joined by co-hosts Paris, The Business, and Sean Ryan from Alpha Counter.com!

We attempt to discuss ways to use costuming at fan conventions as a method to approach and or attract potential mates, but how to not seem like a creepy stalker or a complete asshat.

I say attempt, because we also take a considerable amount of time discussing the greatness that is Sweden, religion-porn, STDs of the eye, “Vajazzleing,” Yip-Yips, opossums, and the classic Liam Neeson flick, TAKEN.

I promise at least 20% of this podcast is at least marginally on topic.
